Javier Sanchez
Javier Sánchez has been developing iOS apps since 2009. His great passion is to enjoy developing apps to give the best user experience.
He is co-founder at Xculpture and Lingualia and has been involved in the complete developement of several iOS Apps such as: Letsbonus, DressApp, Xculpture, iLoowi, Match My Music and Multituch Me.
During the development of these Apps, Javier has covered different topics, including back-end connectivity (json&xml), Image processing (Core Image & open GL), Data base (CoreData, SQLite), OpenGL-ES, Music (Core Audio) and Accelerate Framework (LAPACK, BLAS Libraries).
From 2008 to 2011, Javier has been Visiting Scholar at CCRMA (Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics), Stanford University, USA. He received his MS degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1995 from Tecnun, University of Navarra, Spain. In 2006 Javier completed his PhD in Mechanical Engineering, focused in computational graphics methods for the generation, manipulation and representation of tensile membrane structures in real time, in collaboration with the civil engineering institute at Tecnun.
His work at Stanford was carried out at the Stanford Intermedia Performance Lab (IPL, ipl.stanford.edu), which function is to promote research and education in multimedia in an interdisciplinary scenario. He explores the relationship between art and technology and human computer interfaces.

He started his professional career in 1995 working in the cutting tools industry as Head of the technical office at Widia Valenite Iberica in Spain and Germany. His work was focused on special manufacturing processes for the automotive and aeronautic industry.
Javier joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Tecnun, University of Navarra in 1999 to start his research and academic career, which is focused on Computer Graphics applied to several fields such as product design, architecture, manufacturing, reverse engineering or music.
His research activities include advanced parametric surface representation and construction, NURBS curve and surface fitting, surface interpolation and approximation, analysis of presstressed net and cables, formfinding of double-curved membrane structures, surface fitting for tensile structures models, tensile membrane design software and programming.
His academic activities are related to Product Design methodologies, 3D solid and surface computer modeling techniques, covering all the stages of the product design process, from the conception of a product until its realization.
He started up the Rapid Prototyping Laboratory at Tecnun in 2004, introducing new techniques and technologies used in product design, such as clay modeling, rapid prototyping, rapid tooling, high speed machining, injection moulding, mold making, reverse engineering, free form modeling, face scanning and 3D medical imaging processing.
He is currently involved in several research and industrial projects related to industrial design, tensile membrane structures and music. Javier is very enthusiastic about bringing together creativity and engineering to generate new ideas to be used in other fields such as architecture, medicine, sculpture, music, cooking or any other that would appear...
